Welcome to my House!
Who I am: In my previous life, I was a therapist that worked in nonprofit with court-ordered or involuntary clients, and specialized with juvenile delinquents and their families. In the Spring of 2004, my life-long struggle with chronic auto-immune issues rendered me no longer able to function properly on a daily basis.
How did I get here?: I've always loved shopping, and my wise mother implanted the best skills for the greatest deals. With the time I now had on my hands, I managed to hone them to a fantastic level. Originally starting out on ebay, I defected here, where I have to admit, I have found true happiness!
My purpose: I am here, simply enough, in the hopes to pay my medical bills. Disability is not something I want to be on, so I'm striving to keep afloat. This was the perfect solution in many ways: I love shopping and working with luxury items, maintaining the shop allows me to work at my own pace and provides me with a project that keeps my spirits up, my mind engaged, and a sense of productivity. In addition, it's important to be able to contribute to my household, and it gives me a sense of purpose. Plus, I really love meeting new customers and I feel like each order is really a gift I'm sending out to someone.
The House itself: Is just me. :) A one-woman operation, run from a little country home in the middle of nowhere, Indiana. I grew up outside of Detroit, so it's a major change, but really beautiful and a life I've grown to adore. I live with my wonderful husband, and three pets, all rescues - one dog and two cats. (You may spot them and my nieces and nephews occasionally in my graphics.)
For you: I want all of my clients to be happy when they visit. If there is ever any issue at all, please please please contact me. I will be happy to do what I can!
A note regarding shipping time: Because I am disabled, I ask only one thing - for your patience. Typically, I require up to 2 weeks for me to prep and ship orders, since my health is unpredictable, and I never know when I'll be able to properly brush my teeth much less anything else. If you require an item within a certain amount of time, please clear it with me first.
Caveat: I am disabled by numerous auto-immune diseases, including neurological. I struggle with concentration, memory, and general cognition and some days are better than others. This means that I do, on occasion, make an error. I'm doing the best I can with the situation I've been dealt, so I beg for your patience should I screw something up. The good news is that if this should happen, I promise to make it up to you! It's a small price to pay for a bit of independence in this world, so in the end, it's worth it to me, and I'll make sure that it's worth it to you, too.
